West Coast Classic 2026

‘West Coast Classic 2026’

A huge weekend of darts at this year’s ‘West Coast Classic’ kicking off with the WDF Youth Singles on
Saturday 7th March saw Bodie Worthington and Mitchell Galby earn their spot in the final, defeating Kayden
Dunster and KJ Parker Jnr in the Semi Finals. In a quality game, Bodie edged out Mitchell with a 4 – 3 win to
cap off a great day of darts. A special mention of Alyssa Moody’s fantastic effort to finish in the Last 8 of the
Youth’s event.
Unfortunately, all our ‘Stars of the Future’ were so keen to get across to compete in the Senior Open events
straight after, no photos were taken.

Ladies Open Singles
A small but talented field of ladies battled strongly all day with Natalie Carter defeating ‘Young Gun’ Alyssa
Moody and Evelyn Cockie defeating Hareena Platell in the Semi’s to secure their spot in this years final. As
expected, a great game between two of WA’s finest eventually saw Natalie defeat Evelyn 4 – 3 to take this
years honours.

Mens Open Singles

A starting field of 40, again saw the cream of WA’s darting talent battle it out to see who would take this
year’s title. The competition was fierce with some early favourites falling by the way….Bailey Marsh and
Howard Jones both defeated opponants Steve Ireland and Colin Hutchinson 4 -2 to progress to the Final. A
terrific game between two current State players saw Howard eventually prevail with a 5 – 2 win over Bailey.

Ladies ‘B’ Grade Singles
A mix of both youth and experience made for a terrific day of darts in the Ladies ‘B’ Grade event. Some high
quality games eventually saw the fast improving Jai Milne sneak over the line against Sharon Walgar.

Mens ‘B’ Grade Singles
Another great turn out from our ‘B’ Grade Men also saw the majority of our State’s youth ‘Stars of the
Future’ taking part and really stamping their mark in the WA darting world. Sam Beckett was solid all day and
was eventually rewarded for his efforts with a 4 – 1 win over seasoned campaigner, Clive Hayden.

Ladies Open Doubles
A hotly contested affair here with some high quality pairings. None better than two of WA’s true champions
in Angela Clarke and Natalie Carter who played magnificently all day to become eventual winners (4 – 2)
over Hareena Platell and young ‘Superstar’ Alyssa Moody.

Mens Open Doubles
24 x quality pairs lined up for the prestigious ‘Doubles’ event and as expected, some awesome darts were
thrown on the day. The boards were smokin’ until there were only two pair remaining, former State Reps
Dave Burke and Michael Andre turned it on to nudge out current State Reps, Lindsay Haji Ali and good mate
E J Dryden 5 – 3 in the final.

Ladies ‘B’ Grade Doubles
Only a small number of entries here but a great standard between the ladies. In the end it was ‘Young Guns’
Suzette Parker and partner Samara Ugle taking the honours 3 – 0 over Karina Egan and Rochelle Williams.

Mens ‘B’ Grade Doubles
It was definately a day for WA’s rising young stars….the boys were out in full force after the earlier ‘Youth’
event and took it right up to some of the more seasoned campaigners. Crowd favourites, Beau Anderson Jnr
and Kayden Dunster were solid all day and well deserved winners over fellow ‘Young Guns’, KJ Parker Jnr and
Liam Robertson.

Highest Peg Out
The Belmont Sport & Recreation Club erupted with cheers and was without question, the highlight of the
entire weekend when 11 year old James Thorne Jnr (Pictured below) pegged 170 to progress through to the
‘Knock Out’ stage of the ‘B’ Grade Singles tournament….well done James, a young Champion in waiting.
