Though the numbers may have been lower, the standard of darts certainly wasn’t. The young
people competing were a credit to their associations. Their behaviour, manners and sportsmanship
was an example to all.
Saturday saw the teams’ events, with the men split into 2 divisions. South Suburban dominated
both divisions and both teams went through the competition undefeated. In division 1, Bunbury
finished a strong second with the loss of only one game. In division 2, both Collie and Fremantle lost
only one game – to South suburban and though even on pegs, the eventual 2nd place team was
Fremantle.
In the ladies the 4 teams played in one division and Perth Ladies led the way and went through the
rounds without conceding a match. Second place was very, very close with the Young Guns
snatching the silver medals from Future Guns and South Suburban.
