State Mixed Doubles
What a great day of darts. Thanks to all the players who embraced pre nominations, this really sped up getting the draws done and play was under way by 10.05.
State Mixed Open Doubles
There were 35 pairs in the Open competition and these were split into 4 groups, 3 groups of 9 and 1 group of 8 playing on 2 boards. The format was best of 5 601 but on reflection and with the high standard of darts seeing most of the games go the full way, best of 3 would be better with such large groups, we learn as we go.
All the group round robins were hotly contested and with 4 going through, it was very tight at the top

Final
This was a thriller of a match with neither team wanting to give an inch. Dylan and Tamara got off to a flying start and looked unstoppable. Deon and Michelle had other plans and fought back from 2-0 down to level the match and then continued their form with a 4-3 lead. What turned out the to be the last leg was a thriller, with neither pair giving an inch. The game went the way of Deon and Michelle who sealed their victory with a 5-3 win.

Semi Finals
In the first semi-final, the junior pairing of KJ 60.94 and Samara 43.22 showed their pegging skills with a resounding 3-0 victory over Lindsay 61.39 and Donna 40.31.
In the second semi-final John 51.49 and Sue 29.57 had a convincing win over Nathan 47.76 and Kristina 30.14.
Final
This was another one for the records, the junior pairing was strong all the way through the match and John and Sue had their hands full trying to keep up. A really well fought out final with KJ and Samara winning 4-2
2023 B Grade Mixed Doubles Champions KJ Parker and Samara Ugle.
Winners KJ Parker 51.03 and Samara Ugle 40.07 def John Gardiner 57.63 and Sur Merrivale 37.42.
A total of 58 180’s were hit in the open event and 5 in the B grade event and 23 pegs over 100 with Carl Caton hitting the highest – 153.
Following presentation, the 2023 West Australian Team were presented with their uniforms and wished all the best for their upcoming trip to Moama for the Australian Championships
